Litoria dorsalis Macleay, 1878, Proc. Linn. Soc. New South Wales, 2: 138. Type(s): Not stated; considered by Fry, 1913, Mem. Queensland Mus., 11: 47, and Goldman, Hill, and Stanbury, 1969, Proc. Linn. Soc. New South Wales, 93: 427, to be lost. Type locality: "Katow", near mouth of Binaturi River, Western Province, Papua New Guinea; stated as "Mawatta, Binaturi River (as Katow), Papua New Guinea", by Cogger, Cameron, and Cogger, 1983, Zool. Cat. Aust., Amph. Rept., 1: 42.

Distribution

Known only from two localities on the southern lowlands (near the Fly river mouth and 350 km to the east at the Lakekamu River area), Papua New Guinea; likely more widely distributed into Papua, Indonesia.
