Stor. Nat. Genova, Ser. 3, 69: 213. Type locality: "Yule Island .... Isola Yule nell' Hall Sound", Central Province, Papua New Guinea.
Hyla macgregori Ogilby, 1890, Rec. Aust. Mus., 1: 100. Syntypes: 26 specimens mentioned in original description; syntypes include AMS R4613, R54693-95, R54700-04, R60771, with 16 specimens not located according to Cogger, 1979, Rec. Aust. Mus., 32: 174. Type locality: "St. Joseph's [= Angabunga] River district", southern lowlands, Papua New Guinea. Synonymy by Tyler, 1968, Zool. Verh., Leiden, 96: 68.
