Brandon-Jones, Duckworth, Jenkins, Rylands, and Sarmiento, 2007, Zootaxa, 1541: 41-48, and Dubois, 2007, Zootaxa, 1550: 49-68, discussed the nomenclatural principles that prevent the name cheesmani from being emendable to cheesmanae. Kraus, 2012, Zootaxa, 3493: 1-26, redelimited the species and provided an account.
