Osteocephalus edelcae Ayarzagüena, Señaris, and Gorzula, 1993 "1992", Mem. Soc. Cienc. Nat. La Salle, 52: 122. Holotype: MHNLS 10626, by original designation. Type locality: "Auyan-tepuy, 10,8 km al este del Salto Angel. Estado Bolívar. Venezuela (5° 58′ N-62° 29′ W). 1.970 m s.n.m."

Summits of the Chimantá Massif, Auyántepui, and the Los Testigos Range, Bolívar, Venezuela.

Biol., 22: R589-R590, implied that this name covers more than one species.
