Hyla (Sphoenohyla) orophila Lutz and Lutz, 1938, An. Acad. Brasil. Cienc., 10: 178. Holotype: AL-MNRJ 3309, by original designation. Type locality: "Serra do Mar, 4 km. outside Petropolis, in canal leading to the dam at Quitandinha", Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Hyla aurantiaca orophila — Cochran, 1955 "1954", Bull. U.S. Natl. Mus., 206: 184.

Sphoenohyla orophila — Goin, 1957, Caldasia, 8: 22.

Dryomelictes orophila — Goin, 1961, Ann. Carnegie Mus., 36: 9.

Hyla orophila — Kenny, 1969, Stud. Fauna Curaçao and other Caribb. Is., 29: 50. Apparently based on misidentified specimens from Trinidad.

Sphaenorhynchus orophilus — Rivero, 1969, Copeia, 1969: 702.

English Names

Lutz's Lime Treefrog (Frank and Ramus, 1995, Compl. Guide Scient. Common Names Amph. Rept. World: 65).

Distribution

"Serra do Mar, 4 km. outside Petropolis, in canal leading to the dam at Quitandinha", São Paulo, Brazil.
