Scinax manriquei Barrio-Amorós, Orellana, and Chacón-Ortiz, 2004, J. Herpetol., 38: 106. Holotype: CVULA IV-1094, by original designation. Type locality: "Mesa Quintero, Guaraque, estado Merida, Venezuela, 1700 m, 08° 07′ N, 71° 36′ W".

Scinax flavidus La Marca, 2004, Herpetotropicos, Mérida, 1: 5. Holotype: ULABG 3269, by original designation. Type locality: "VENEZUELA, ESTADO TáCHIRA, Municipio San Cristóbal: 16.5 Km. De San Cristóbal, end la via San Cristóbal-Macanilla, a 5.3 Km. De Chorro del Indio, 1180 m.s.n.m." Although La Marca, 2007 "2006", Herpetotropicos, Mérida, 3: 121, regarded Scinax flavidus as the senior name, see Barrio-Amoros, Orellana, and Chacón-Ortiz, 2010, Rev. Ecol. Lat. Am., 15: 1-7, for discussion of the evidence of the seniority of Scinax manriquei over Scinax flavidus.

Distribution

Andean footshills in the in the extreme southwest of the Cordillera de Mérida as well as the Sierra de la Culata, and in the central part of the Sierra Nevada de Mérida, states of Táchira and Mérida, Veneuzuela; Tamá massif (Norte de Santander, Colombia), 1400-1700 m elevation.

In the Scinax ruber clade of Faivovich, Haddad, Garcia, Frost, Campbell, and Wheeler, 2005, Bull. Am. Mus. Nat. Hist., 294: 96. La Marca, 2007 "2006", Herpetotropicos, Mérida, 3: 121, discussed the publication dates of Scinax flavidus and Scinax manriquei, as did Barrio-Amoros, Orellana, and Chacón-Ortiz, 2010, Rev. Ecol. Lat. Am., 15: 1-7, who provided additional evidence, reversing the conclusion of La Marca.
