In the Ptychohyla euthysanota group. Most of the former reports of Ptychohyla spinipollex refer to Ptychohyla hypomykter; see McCranie and Wilson, 1993, Southwest. Nat., 38: 100-104, for summary of the problem. See accounts by Duellman, 2001, Hylid Frogs Middle Am., Ed. 2: 1014-1017, and McCranie and Wilson, 2002, Amph. Honduras: 320-324. McCranie, 2007, Herpetol. Rev., 38: 38, summarized the departmental distribution in Honduras. See photograph, map, description of geographic range and habitat, and conservation status in Stuart, Hoffmann, Chanson, Cox, Berridge, Ramani, and Young, 2008, Threatened Amph. World: 278.
