Hyla dendrophasma Campbell, Smith, and Acevedo, 2000, Herpetologica, 56: 251. Holotype: UTA A-51838, by original designation. Type locality: "Riachuelo Sancapech, Finca San Francisco, near Aldea Yalambojoch, Huehuetenango, Guatemala. This locality is located at about 16° 01′ 56″ N and 91° 33′ 29″ W at 1270 m in the northwestern portion of the Sierra de Los Cuchumatanes, approximately 4.0 km NW of the main ranch-house of Finca San Francisco".

Distribution
Known only from the type locality at an elevation of 1270 m at the northwestern edge of the Sierra de Los Cuchumatanes, Huehuetenango, Guatemala; expected in adjacent Mexico.
Comment
Most similar to Hyla echinata according to the original publication. See account by Duellman, 2001, Hylid Frogs Middle Am., Ed. 2: 890-892, who considered it a member of his Hyla miliaria group.
