Pseudis tocantins Caramaschi and Cruz, 1998, Rev. Brasil. Zool., 15: 940. Holotype: MNRJ 11338, by original designation. Type locality: "Porto Nacional (10° 42′ S, 48° 25′ W, 212 m altitude), margem direita do rio Tocantins, Tocantins, Brasil".

Distribution
Known only from the type locality in the state of Tocantins, Brazil, as well as in Bananal Island National Park, Mato Grosso, Muncipality of Britania, Goias, and Municipality of Porto Franco, Maranhão, Brazil.

Brandão, Colli, Peres, and Abreu, 2003, Phyllomedusa, 2: 69-70, provided the records from Mato Grosso and Goias, Brazil. Lucas and Brasileiro, 2005, Herpetol. Rev., 36: 334, provided a record for Maranhão, Brazil, and briefly summarized the known range of the species.
