Comment

Argentinian populations discussed (as Pseudis paradoxa) by Cei, 1980, Monit. Zool. Ital., N.S., Monogr., 2: 415-422. De la Riva, 1999, Brit. J. Herpetol., 68: 14-19, discussed the species and geographic variation in Bolivia (presumably also including Pseudis paradoxa at the time). De la Riva, Köhler, Lötters, and Reichle, 2000, Rev. Esp. Herpetol., 14: 52, discussed subspecific variation in Bolivia (as Pseudis paradoxa). Brusquetti and Lavilla, 2006, Cuad. Herpetol., 20: 10-11, briefly discussed the range (as Pseudis paradoxus occidentalis and Pseudis paradoxus platensis) in Paraguay. Garda, Santana, and São-Pedro, 2010, Zootaxa, 2666: 21, suggested that Pseudis platensis may not be differentiable from Pseudis scosparadoxa.
