Plectrohyla tecunumani Duellman and Campbell, 1984, Copeia, 1984: 391. Holotype: KU 39956, by original designation. Type locality: "a cave 1 km east of Chemal, Departamento Huehuetenango, Guatemala, 3,395 m (15° 27′ N, 91° 31′ W)".

Distribution
Known from three high elevation (3200-3395 m) localities in the Sierra de Cuchumatanes, western Guatemala.
