Hyla ameibothalame Canseco-Márquez, Mendelson, and Gutiérrez-Mayén, 2002, Herpetologica, 58: 261. Holotype: EBUAP 1024, by original designation. Type locality: "1 km S Yoxocuno, Municipality of San Pedro Nopala, 2455 m (17° 51′ N, 97° 34′ W), Mixteca Alta, Oaxaca, México".

Distribution
Known only from two localities in northwestern Oaxaca, Mexico: Yosocuno and near Nativitas, in pine-oak forest at 2455-2670 m elevation.
