In the Phyllodytes luteolus group of Faivovich, Haddad, Garcia, Frost, Campbell, and Wheeler, 2005, Bull. Am. Mus. Nat. Hist., 294: 110. Vrcibradic, Hatano, Rocha, and Van Sluys, 2006, Herpetol. Rev., 37: 489, provided the record for northern Rio de Janeiro state, Brazil. Salles and Silva-Soares, 2010, Herpetol. Notes, 3: 257-258, reported on an introduced population in the city of Rio de Janeiro.
