Phyllodytes kautskyi Peixoto and Cruz, 1988, Rev. Brasil. Biol., 48: 266. Holotype: EI 7728, by original designation. Type locality: "Município de Domingos Martins, Estado do Espírito Santo", Brazil.

English Names

Brazilian Heart-tongued Frogs (Frank and Ramus, 1995, Compl. Guide Scient. Common Names Amph. Rept. World: 61).

Distribution

Known from the type locality (Município de Domingos Martins, Espírito Santo), Brazil.

Comment

Peixoto and Caramaschi, 2002, Herpetol. Rev., 33: 318, provided the Bahia record. In the Phyllodytes luteolus group of Faivovich, Haddad, Garcia, Frost, Campbell, and Wheeler, 2005, Bull. Am. Mus. Nat. Hist., 294: 110. Cruz, Feio, and Cardoso, 2007 "2006", Arq. Mus. Nac., Rio de Janeiro, 64: 322, noted that previous records for Bahia, are based on Phyllodytes maculosus.
