Osteocephalus oophagus Jungfer and Schiesari, 1995, Alytes, 13: 2. Holotype: MZUSP 69852, by original designation. Type locality: "Reserva Florestal Adolfo Dicke (2° 55′ S, 59° 59′ W), situated at km 26 of the Rodovia AM-010 (Manaus—Itacoatiara), Estado do Amazonas, Brazil".

English Names

Oophagous Slender-legged Treefrog (Kok and Kalamandeen, 2008, Intr. Taxon. Amph. Kaieteur Natl. Park, 5: 186).

Distribution

Known only from the vicinity of the type locality in Amazonas, Brazil; a record in Guainia, Colombia; French Guiana; presumably to be found in Amazonian Venezuela and the remainder of the Guianas.

Patrimoines Nat., Paris, 45: 186-187, provided a photo and brief account for French Guiana. Kok and Kalamandeen, 2008, Intr. Taxon. Amph. Kaieteur Natl. Park, 5: 186-187, provided an account. Moravec, Aparicio, Guerrero-Reinhard, Calderón, Jungfer, and Gvoždík, 2009, Zootaxa, 2215: 37-54, noted likely misidentifications in GenBank sequences.
