Megalixalus gramineus Boulenger, 1898, Ann. Mus. Civ. Stor. Nat. Genova, Ser. 2, 18: 721. Syntypes: BMNH and MSNG (several specimens) ; MSNG 28564A designated lectotype by Capocaccia, 1957, Ann. Mus. Civ. Stor. Nat. Genova, Ser. 3, 69: 217. Type locality: "between Badditł and Dimč", Ethiopia.

Pseudocassina ocellata Ahl, 1924, Mitt. Zool. Mus. Berlin, 11: 8. Syntypes: ZMB (2 specimens), registration numbers not provided in the original publication. Type localities: "Hochebene Didda" and "Somaliland". Synonymy by Largen, 1977, Monit. Zool. Ital., N.S., Suppl., 9: 86. Earlier synonymy with Leptopelis rugosus by Ahl, 1931, Das Tierreich, 55: 222.

Pseudocassina rugosa Ahl, 1924, Mitt. Zool. Mus. Berlin, 11: 9. Holotype: ZMB registration not provided, according to the original publication. Type locality: "Meta, Meta . . . Kolla, Zindelevat", Ethiopia. Synonymy by Largen, 1977, Monit. Zool. Ital., N.S., Suppl., 9: 86.
