Distribution
Tropical South America east of the Andes from Guyana to Bolivia and south from there to Argentina and Uruguay.

Evol., 5555: 871-882), where it had been placed by Aguiar, Bacci, Lima, Rossa-Feres, Haddad, and Recco-Pimentel, 2007, Cladistics, 23: 462. See comment under Pseudis. Garda, Santana, and São-Pedro, 2010, Zootaxa, 2666: 1-28, reported on morphometrics and ranges of the species.
