Hyla wavrini Parker, 1936, Bull. Mus. R. Hist. Nat. Belg., 12: 2. Holotype: IRSNB 1028 (formerly 459) according to Lang, 1990, Doc. Trav., Inst. R. Sci. Nat. Belg., 59: 8. Type locality: "Upper Orinoco, in the province of Amazonas, Venezuela".

Hyla miranda-ribeiri Melin, 1941, Göteborgs K. Vetensk. Vitterh. Samh. Handl., Ser. B, 1: 21. Holotype: NHMG 466, according to Duellman, 1977, Das Tierreich, 95: 40. Type locality: "Taracuá, Rio Uaupés, [Amazonas,] Brazil". Synonymy with Hyla boans by Duellman, 1971, Herpetologica, 27: 399. Synonymy (with Hyla wavrini) by Hoogmoed, 1990, Zool. Meded., Leiden, 64: 71-93.

Distribution

Low elevation Amazonian drainage of southeastern Colombia, southern Venezuela, and central Amazonian Brazil.

In the Hyla boans group according to Duellman, 2001, Hylid Frogs Middle Am., Ed. 2: 859. Resurrected from the synonymy of Hyla boans by Hoogmoed, 1990, Zool. Meded., Leiden, 64: 71-93, where it had been placed by Cochran and Goin, 1970, Bull. U.S. Natl. Mus., 288: 199. See account by Rivero, 1961, Bull. Mus. Comp. Zool., 126: 97. Lynch and Suárez-Mayorga, 2001, Caldasia, 23: 491-507, discussed the Colombian range of the species.
