Hyla rubracyla Cochran and Goin, 1970, Bull. U.S. Natl. Mus., 288: 229. Holotype: USNM 157820, by original designation. Type locality: "along the Río Calima, near Córdoba, [Departamento] Valle, Colombia".

Tentatively placed in the Hypsiboas pellucens group by Faivovich, Haddad, Garcia, Frost, Campbell, and Wheeler, 2005, Bull. Am. Mus. Nat. Hist., 294: 87.
