Hyla phaeopleura Caramaschi and Cruz, 2000, Bol. Mus. Nac., Rio de Janeiro, N.S., Zool., 422: 5. Holotype: MNRJ 19915, by original designation. Type locality: "Brasil, Goiás, Chapada dos Veadeiros, Município de Alto Paraíso de Goiás, no cruzamento entre o rio dos Couros e à estrada que liga a cidade de Alto Paraíso de Goiás a vila de São Jorge (14° 08′ S, 47° 32′ W)".
