Hyla atlantica Caramaschi and Velosa, 1996, Bol. Mus. Nac., Rio de Janeiro, N.S., Zool., 365: 2. Holotype: MNRJ 17092, by original designation. Type locality: "Brasil, Bahia, Município de Itabuna, Comissão Executiva do Plano da Lavoura Cacaueira—CEPLAC (aprox. 14° 55′ S, 39° 25′ W)".

English Names

None noted.

Distribution

Known only from the type locality (Município de Tiabuna, Comissão Executiva do Plano da Lavoura Cacaueira) and 102 km to the north in the Municipalities of Nilo Peçanha and Camamu, and in the Atlantic Forest in Bahia, Brazil.

Comment

Similar to Hyla punctata according to the original publication. Silvano and Pimenta, 2002, Herpetol. Rev., 33: 145, provided the records beyond the type locality. In the Hypsiboas punctata group of Faivovich, Haddad, Garcia, Frost, Campbell, and Wheeler, 2005, Bull. Am. Mus. Nat. Hist., 294: 88.
