Hypsiboas aguilari Lehr, Faivovich, and Jungfer, 2010, Herpetologica, 66: 297. Holotype: MUSM 18656, by original designation. Type locality: "San Alberto (10° 32′ 53.4″ S, 075° 22′ 16.6″ W; . . .), 2200 m elevation, Provincia de Pasco, Departamento de Pasco, Peru".

Distribution
Eastern Andes of central Peru: Pasco and Junin at elevations of 1225-2080 m elevation.
Comment
In the Hypsiboas pulchellus group, most closely related to Hypsiboas melanopleura, according to the original publication. Lehr, Faivovich, and Jungfer, 2011, Salamandra, 47: 30-35, reported on larval morphology.
