Mus., 160: 164; probably syntypes according to Cochran, 1961, Bull. U.S. Natl. Mus., 220: 54. Type locality: "City of Mexico", Mexico. Restricted to "Coyoacán", Distrito Federal, Mexico, by Smith and Taylor, 1950, Univ. Kansas Sci. Bull., 33: 329.

Hyla gracilipes Cope, 1865, Proc. Acad. Nat. Sci. Philadelphia, 17: 194. Syntypes: USNM 15318-21 (4 specimens) according to Kellogg, 1932, Bull. U.S. Natl. Mus., 160: 168, who designated USNM 15321 lectotype. Type locality: "Mexican table land, north-east of city of Mexico"; corrected to Mirador, Veracruz, Mexico, by Kellogg, 1932, Bull. U.S. Natl. Distribution

South-central Durango and the Sierra Madre Oriental in Tamaulipas south to the Transverse Volcanic Range of Jalisco, Colima, Michoacan, Mexico, Morelos, Disrito Federal, Puebla, and Veracruz, Mexico.
