Distribution

Known from scattered localities throughout much of the western half of Angola.

Comment

Removed from the synonymy of Leptopelis rufus by Mertens, 1940, Senckenb. Biol., 22: 130, where it had been placed by Noble, 1924, Bull. Am. Mus. Nat. Hist., 49: 242. Leptopelis anchietae nordequatorialis Perret, 1966, is now considered a distinct species, as is Leptopelis oryi Inger, 1968. See Amiet and Schiøtz, 1974, Ann. Fac. Sci.
