Exerodonta Sumichrasti Brocchi, 1879, Bull. Soc. Philomath., Paris, Ser. 7, 3: 20. Type(s): Formerly in MNHNP; now apparently lost according to Kellogg, 1932, Bull. U.S. Natl. Mus., 160: 181. Type locality: "Santa Efigenia près de Tehuantepec", Oaxaca, Mexico.

Hylella platycephala Cope, 1879, Proc. Am. Philos. Soc., 18: 267. Syntypes: USNM 10037 (5 specimens) according to Kellogg, 1932, Bull. U.S. Natl. Mus., 160: 183, and Cochran, 1961, Bull. U.S. Natl. Mus., 220: 61. Type locality: "Tehuantepec . . . . from Japana, from an elevation of from 2000 to 3000 feet", Mexico; rendered as "Tapana, near Santa Efigenia, Tehuantepec, Oaxaca, Mexico, 2000-3000 ft" by Cochran, 1961, Bull. Distribution

Pacific slopes of southern Mexico (Guerrero, Oaxaca, and Chiapas) and Chiapan highlands, Mexico.
