Comment

In the Hyla pinorum group, most similar to Hyla melanomma, according to the original publication. In the Hyla miotympanum group of Duellman, 2001, Hylid Frogs Middle Am., Ed. 2: 917-919, who provided an account. See also McCranie and Wilson, 2002, Amph. Honduras: 258-262, who noted that previous records from El Salvador are from a formerly disputed region, now under Honduran sovereignty. In Exerodonta, but unnassigned to species group by Faivovich, Haddad, Garcia, Frost, Campbell, and Wheeler, 2005, Bull. Am. Mus. Nat. Hist., 294: 101. McCranie, 2007, Herpetol. Rev., 38: 38, summarized the departmental distribution in Honduras. See illustration, map, description of geographic range and habitat, and conservation status in Stuart, Hoffmann, Chanson, Cox, Berridge, Ramani, and Young, 2008, Threatened Amph. World: 246.
