Hyla pygmaea Werner, 1894, Zool. Anz., 17: 411. Types: presumably NHMW, though not mentioned in recent type lists and presumed lost. Type locality: "Blumenau, Prov. Sta. Catharina Brasilien". Junior secondary homonym of Hyperolius pygmaea Meyer, 1875.

Hyla pigmaea — Miranda-Ribeiro, 1926, Arq. Mus. Nac., Rio de Janeiro, 27: 83. Incorrect subsequent spelling.

Hyla werneri Cochran, 1952, J. Washington Acad. Sci., 42: 50. Replacement name for Hyla pygmaea Werner, 1894.

Hyla goughi baileyi Cochran, 1953, Herpetologica, 8: 114. Holotype: UMMZ 106737, by original designation. Type locality: "Fazenda Poco [= Poço] Grande, 8 Km. north of Juquiá, São Paulo", Brazil. Synonymy by Lutz, 1973, Brazil. Spec. Hyla: 216; Pombal and Bastos, 1998, Bol. Mus. Nac., Rio de Janeiro, N.S., Zool., 390: 1-4.
