Dendropsophus salli Jungfer, Reichle, and Piskurek, 2010, Salamandra, 46: 206. Holotype: MNK-A 8445, by original designation. Type locality: "about 7 km ESE of Rurrenabaque near the road to Yucumo (14° 26′ 11″ S, 67° 29′ 35″ W), 340 m a.s.l., Provincia Ballivian, Departamento Beni, Bolivia".

In Bolivia from the northern parts of the Departamento Pando southward to the northern parts of the Chiquitano Dry Forest near San Rafael. The easternmost record is from Noel Kempff National Park on the Brazilian/Bolivian border and likely extends into Acre, Brazil, where records of Dendropsophus bifurcus may represent this species.
In the Dendropsophus leucophyllatus group, and confused with Dendropsophus bifurcus and Dendropsophus leucophyllatus prior to its naming, according to the original publication
