Hyla creolica Werner, 1899, Verh. Zool. Bot. Ges. Wien, 49: 483. Syntypes: BMNH 1947.2.24.14 (formerly 1900.2.7.5; according to Condit, 1964, J. Ohio Herpetol. Soc., 4: 89) and (formerly ZIUG) ZFMK 28569-79 (Chapinero near Bogota), 28575 (Savanna near Bogota), 28576-77 (Boqueron near Bogota), 28578-79 (Porero near Bogota), 28580-83 (Hacienda Otoño near Bogota), according to Böhme and Bischoff, 1984, Bonn. Zool. Monogr., 19: 181. Type localities: "Savanna bei Bogotá" and "Hacienda Otoño bei Bogotá", Department of Cundinamarca, Colombia. Synonymy with Hyla vilsoniana by Boulenger, 1900, Zool. Rec., 36: 29 (who documented that Hyla vilsoniana antedated Hyla creolica by seven months); Peracca, 1914, Mem. Soc. Neuchatel. Sci. Nat., 5: 108, and Hellmich, 1940, Zool. Anz., 129: 1. Hyla servalina Werner, 1899, Verh. Zool. Bot. Ges. Wien, 49: 483. Holotype: ZFMK 28584 (formerly ZIUG) according to Böhme and Bischoff, 1984, Bonn. Zool. Monogr., 19: 182. Type locality: "Laguna de la Guitarra (Paramo de Sumapaz)", Department of Cundinamarca, Colombia. Subspecies distinctiveness rejected by Duellman, 1989, Occas. Pap. Mus. Nat. Hist. Univ. Kansas, 131: 1-12.

Distribution

Andes of central a Colombia in the department of Cundinamarcawest west of a line from Chiquiquirá to Chocontá to Chingaza, 1600-3600 m elevation.

Mus., 288: 254, where it had been placed by Duellman, 1968, Cat. Am. Amph. Rept., 61: 1-2. Lynch and Renjifo, 2001, Guia Anf. Rept. Bogota: 48-49, presented a brief account and photograph. In the Dendropsophus labialis group of Faivovich, Haddad, Garcia, Frost, Campbell, and Wheeler, 2005, Bull. Am. Mus. Nat. Hist., 294: 91. Guarnizo, Amézquita, and Bermingham, 2009, Mol. Phylogenet. Evol., 50: 84-92, reported on molecular phylogeography within eastern Colombia, in what subsequently was named Dendropsophus luddeckei. Guarnizo, Escallón, Cannatella, and Amézquita, 2012, Herpetologica, 68: 523-540, revised and redelimited the species.
