Comment

Distinction from Leptodactylus ovatus demonstrated by Perret, 1959, Bull. Soc. Neuchatel. Sci. Nat., 82: 248-249; and Perret, 1966, Zool. Jahrb., Jena, Abt. Syst., 93: 383-384. Schiøtz, 1963, Vidensk. Medd. Dansk Naturhist. Foren., 125: 49, provided records for Nigeria. See statement of geographic range, habitat, and conservation status in Stuart, Hoffmann, Chanson, Cox, Berridge, Ramani, and Young, 2008, Threatened Amph. World: 610.
