In the Dendropsophus parviceps group of Faivovich, Haddad, Garcia, Frost, Campbell, and Wheeler, 2005, Bull. Am. Mus. Nat. Hist., 294: 93. Fouquet, Noonan, Blanc, and Orrico, 2011, Zootaxa, 3035: 59-67, provided molecular evidence that this species is in the Dendropsophus microcephalus group.
