Known from the region of the type locality (Municipio de Silvânia, Goiás, Brazil), Municipality of Cassilandia, Mato Grosso del Sul, Brazil, and 14 km west of La Mechita, Provincia Velasco, Departamento Santa Cruz, Bolivia.
In the Hyla microcephala group according to the original publication. Köhler, 2003, Herpetol. Rev., 34: 381, provided the Bolivian record. Martins, Ameida, Jim, Spirandeli Cruz, and Cardana, 2004, Herpetol. Rev., 35: 281-282, provided the record for Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil.
