Hyla aperomea Duellman, 1982, Amphibia-Reptilia, 3: 153. Holotype: KU 181812, by original designation. Type locality: "8 km NNE (by road) of Balzapata, 1850 m, Departamento Amazónas, Perú (05° 46′ S, 74° 47′ W)".

In the Dendropsophus minimus group of Faivovich, Haddad, Garcia, Frost, Campbell, and Wheeler, 2005, Bull. Am. Mus. Nat. Hist., 294: 92-93. The Hyla minima group should be placed within the Hyla parviceps group according to Duellman, 2001, Hylid Frogs Middle Am., Ed. 2: 859. See comment under Dendropsophus relating to the status of the minimus group.
