Hyla amicorum Mijares-Urrutia, 1998, Rev. Brasil. Biol., 58: 661. Holotype: USNM 216677, by original designation. Type locality: "Cerro Socopo, 84.0 km al NO de Carora, estado Falcón, Venezuela (10° 28′ N, 70° 48′ O)".

Known only from the type locality: Cerro Socopo, state of Falcón, Venezuela, 1250 m elevation.
Comment
Possibly related to either the Hyla microcephala or Hyla minuta group according to the original publication. In Dendropsophus, but unnassigned to species group according to Faivovich, Haddad, Garcia, Frost, Campbell, and Wheeler, 2005, Bull. Am. Mus. Nat. Hist., 294: 93.
