Corythomantis greeningi Boulenger, 1896, Ann. Mag. Nat. Hist., Ser. 6, 17: 405. Holotype: BMNH 1947.2.25.97 (formerly 96.1.20.3) according to Condit, 1964, J. Ohio Herpetol. Soc., 4: 86. Type locality: "Brazil (exact locality unknown)"; corrected to "Brazil: Espirito Santo" by Condit, 1964, J. Ohio Herpetol. Soc., 4: 86.

Corythomantis schubarti Miranda-Ribeiro, 1937, O Campo, 1937: 56. Holotype: MNRJ 246, according to Miranda-Ribeiro, 1955, Arq. Mus. Nac., Rio de Janeiro, 42: 411. Type locality: "Salgadinho, Pernambuco", Brazil. Synonymy by Carvalho, 1941, Pap. Avulsos Zool., São Paulo, 1: 107.

Xeric and subhumid regions of northeastern Brazil.
