Hyla martinsi Bokermann, 1964, Neotropica, 10: 67. Holotype: WCAB 14759, by original designation; now in MZUSP. Type locality: "región del Colegio de Caraça, Serra do Caraça, Santa Barbara, Minas Gerais, Brasil".

Mountains of central Minas Gerais, Brazil.

In the Hyla martinsi group. Transferred into the Hyla circumdata group by Caramaschi and Feio, 1990, Copeia, 1990: 542-546. Included in the Hyla circumdata group by Caramaschi, Napoli, and Bernardes, 2001, Bol. Mus. Nac., Rio de Janeiro, N.S., Zool., 457: 1-11. In the Bokermannohyla martinsi group of Faivovich, Haddad, Garcia, Frost, Campbell, and Wheeler, 2005, Bull. Am. Mus. Nat. Hist., 294: 83. Canelas and Bertoluci, 2007, Iheringia, Zool., 97: 21-26, provided a record for the Serra do Caraça, southern end of the Serra do Espinhaço, Minas Gerais, Brazil. Leite and Eterovick, 2010, J. Herpetol., 44: 431-440, reported on larval morphology.
