Hyla ibitipoca Caramaschi and Feio, 1990, Copeia, 1990: 542. Holotype: MNRJ 4460, by original designation. Type locality: "Parque Estadual do Ibitipoca, Lima Duarte Municipality (ca. 21° 42′ S, 43° 53′ W), State of Minas Gerais, Brazil".

English Names

Ibitipoca Treefrog (Frank and Ramus, 1995, Compl. Guide Scient. Common Names Amph. Rept. World: 55).

Distribution

Known from (1) the type locality in the Serra do Ibitipoca, Minas Gerais, (2) Parque Estadual da Serra do Brigadiero, Fazenda Brigadeiro, Minas Gerais, (3) eastern part of the Serra da Mantiqueira, Mindas, Gerais, and (4) Pedra Azul State Park, in the Serra da Boa Vista, Espírito Santo, Brazil.

Comment

A member of the Hyla circumdata group according to the original publication. Feio, Ferreira, and Pantoja, 2003, Herpetol. Rev., 34: 258, reported the species from Minas Gerais, Brazil. In the Bokermannohyla circumdata group of Faivovich, Haddad, Garcia, Frost, Campbell, and Wheeler, 2005, Bull. Am. Mus. Nat. Hist., 294: 82-83. Moura, Gasparini, and Feio, 2008, Check List, 4: 389-391, discussed the range and provided the record for Espírito Santo, Brazil. Cruz, Feio, and Caramaschi, 2009, Anf. Ibitipoca: 86-87, provided photographs and a brief account for Parque Estadual do Ibitipoca, Minas Gerais, Brazil. Santos, Silva, Fehlberg, Santos, Zaidan, and Garcia, 2012, Check List, 8: 313-316, reported this species from the eastern region of the Serra da Mantiqueira, Minas Gerais, Brazil, and commented on the range.
