Chorophilus cuzcanus Cope, 1878 "1877", Proc. Am. Philos. Soc., 17: 37. Types: Not designated, presumably originally in the ANSP. Type locality: "Peru". Recognized by Boulenger, 1882, Cat. Batr. Sal. Coll. Brit. Mus., Ed. 2: 334. Goin, 1961, Ann. Carnegie Mus., 36: 13, suggested this might be an Aplastodiscus; Lutz, 1968, Pearce-Sellards Ser., 11: 7, suggested that this may be an older name for Aplastodiscus perviridis, although this seems not to have been generally accepted.

Type locality: "Serra de Bocaina na zona limítrofe do Estado de São Paulo com o Estado do Rio . . . . 1.100 ms de altitude" also in the english part as "Serra da Bocaina on the border between the states of São Paulo and of Rio de Janeiro . . . . at 1100 ms. of altitude"; given as "Fazenda do Bonito, Serra da Bocaina, São José do Barreiro, São Paulo", Brazil by Bokermann, 1966, Lista Anot. Distribution

Central and southeastern Brazil from Brasília and Serra da Mantiqueira and coastal ranges south to Rio Grande do Sul and northeastern Argentina; likely into adjacent Paraguay.

Herpetol., 20: 27, suggested that this species likely occurs in adjacent Paraguay.
