Distribution

Southern São Paulo, through coastal Paranáto eastern Santa Catarina, southeastern Brazil.

Comment

See discussion by Faivovich, Cruz, and Peixoto, 2002, J. Herpetol., 36: 325-327, who moved this species from Scinax into Hyla and placed Hyla arianae into synonymy. In the Aplastodiscus albofrenatus group of Faivovich, Haddad, Garcia, Frost, Campbell, and Wheeler, 2005, Bull. Am. Mus. Nat. Hist., 294: 82. Conte, Lingnau, and Kwet, 2005, Salamandra, 41: 147-151, discussed the range and provided records for the states of São Paulo and Paraná.
