Type locality: "Ivory Coast, Taď National Park, transect 1, at the bank of a small creek in swampy, primary rainforest, 05°50´03.5N, 007°20´57.0W".

Most similar to Cardioglossa leucomystax (with which it was previously confused), Cardioglossa melanogaster, and Cardioglossa schioetzi.
