Hemisus barotseensis Channing and Broadley, 2002, J. Herpetol., 36: 368. Holotype: NMZB 16191, by original designation. Type locality: "Barotse floodplain near Mongu (15° 15′ 36.7″ S, 23° 07′ 46.0″ E), western Zambia".

Most similar to Hemisus guineensis microps according to the original publication.
