Stefania ginesi Rivero, 1968 "1966", Caribb. J. Sci., 6: 145. Holotype: FMNH 74041, by original designation. Type locality: "Chimanta-tepui, [Estado Bolívar,] Venezuela, rock outcrops near E. branch of headwater Río Tirica, 7300 ft."

English Names

Tepuis Treefrog (Frank and Ramus, 1995, Compl. Guide Scient. Common Names Amph. Rept. World: 65).

Distribution

Macizo de Chimantá, 1850-2600 m elevation, in southeastern Venezuela.

See comments regarding distribution of Venezuelan population by Gorzula and Señaris, 1999 "1998", Scient. Guaianae, 8: 45-46. Barrio-Amorós, 1999 "1998", Acta Biol. Venezuelica, 18: 26, noted that reports of this species from Auyantepui refer to Stefania schuberti.
