Comment

Description completed by Amiet, 1972, Ann. Fac. Sci. Cameroun, 9: 127-153. Considered a synonym of Cardioglossa escalerae by Laurent, 1972, Explor. Parc Natl. Virunga, Ser. 2, 22: 37, but this was rejected by Amiet, 1972, Ann. Fac. Sci. Cameroun, 9. The subspecies Cardioglossa nigromaculata inornata Laurent, 1951, is probably a distinct species according to J.-L. Amiet in Frost, 1985, Amph. Species World: 17. See statement of geographic range, habitat, and conservation status in Stuart, Hoffmann, Chanson, Cox, Berridge, Ramani, and Young, 2008, Threatened Amph. World: 610.
