Cardioglossa gratiosa Amiet, 1972, Biol. Gabonica, 8: 221. Holotype: MHNG 1253.85 (formerly JLA 71.070) according to J.-L. Amiet in Frost, 1985, Amph. Species World: 16; and Schätti, Perret, and Mariaux, 2002, Cat. Comm. Types Amph. Rept. Mus. Hist. Nat. Geneve, Vers. 4.0 (Jan. 2002): 7. Type locality: "Ongot, env. 750 m", Cameroon.

Cardioglossa gratiosa peternageli Böhme and Schneider, 1987, Bonn. Zool. Beitr., 38: 249. Holotype: ZFMK 40805, by original designation. Type locality: "Minim," Cameroon.

Distribution

Widely distributed in Cameroon south of 7° 5´ N, except in the littoral plain and mountains south through Equatorial Guinea to southern Gabon; north-central Dem. Rep. Congo; presumably in western Central African Republic and western Rep. Congo.

Comment

Closely related to Cardioglossa nigromaculata according to J.-L. Amiet in Frost, 1985, Amph. Species World: 17. This was rejected by Blackburn, 2008, Zool. J. Linn. Soc., 154: 624. Penner and Rödel, 2007, in Butynski and McCullough (eds.), RAP Bull. Biol. Assessment, 46: 37-41, provided a record for north-central Dem. Rep. Congo.
