Gastrotheca espeletia Duellman and Hillis, 1987, Herpetologica, 43: 152. Holotype: KU 169401, by original designation. Type locality: "north shore of Lago de la Cocha, 2790 m (01° 08′ N, 77° 07′ W), Departamento Nariño, Colombia".
English Names
North Shore Marsupial Frog (Frank and Ramus, 1995, Compl. Guide Scient. Common Names Amph. Rept. World: 53).
Distribution
Elevations of 2530-3400 m in the southern part of the Cordillera Central in Colombia (Nariño Department) and the Nudo de Pasto in southern Colombia and northern Ecuador (Carchi Province).
