Gastrotheca carinaceps Duellman, Trueb, and Lehr, 2006, Copeia, 2006: 596. Holotype: MUSM 19901, by original designation. Type locality: "Peru, Provincia de Oxapampa, from the vicinity of San Alberto, 10° 32′ 53 S, 75° 22′ 17 W, 2200 m".

Known only from the type locality (vicinity of San Alberto, Provincia de Oxapampa) at an elevation of 2200 m on the Amazonian slopes of the Andes in central Peru.
