Gastrotheca bufona Cochran and Goin, 1970, Bull. U.S. Natl. Mus., 288: 164. Holotype: MLS 344, by original designation. Type locality: "Ventanas (about 50 kilometers [by road] northwest of Yarumal), [Departamento] Antioquia, Colombia".

Gastrotheca (Opisthodelphys) bufona — Dubois, 1987 "1986", Alytes, 5: 31.

English Names

Antioquia Marsupial Frog (Frank and Ramus, 1995, Compl. Guide Scient. Common Names Amph. Rept. World: 53).

Distribution

North side of the Cordillera Central in the Department of Antioquia, and the eastern slopes in the Department of Caldas. Colombia, 1700-2200 m elevation.

Comment

In the Gastrotheca ovifera group by implication of Duellman, Maxson, and Jesiolowski, 1988, Copeia, 1988: 527-543. This species was incorrectly associated with Gastrotheca weinlandii by Duellman, 1974, Occas. Pap. Mus. Nat. Hist. Univ. Kansas, 27: 5, according to Duellman, 1983, Copeia, 1983: 872.
