Type locality: "Upper reaches of the Geelhoutboom River, Loerie Forest Reserve, Elandsberg Mountains (3325 CC Loerie), Eastern Cape Province, South Africa . . . . 33° 47′ 54 S, 25° 03′ 43 E. Alt. 420 m".
