Eleutherodactylus ruthae tychathrous Schwartz, 1965, Bull. Mus. Comp. Zool., 132: 491. Holotype: MCZ 43188, by original designation. Type locality: "7 km northwest Vallejuelo, 2600 feet (790 m), San Juan Province, República Dominicana".

Comment
Powell, 1993, Herpetol. Rev., 24: 135-137, suggested that Eleutherodactylus ruthae tychaethrous warranted binominal status. In the Eleutherodactylus (Pelorius) ruthae species series of Hedges, Duellman, and Heinicke, 2008, Zootaxa, 1737: 86, who formalized recognition of this taxon as a species.
