Eleutherodactylus portoricensis Schmidt, 1927, Am. Mus. Novit., 279: 2. Holotype: AMNH 10249, by original designation. Type locality: "El Yunque, 2000 feet altitude, [Bosque Experimental de Luquillo,] Porto Rico [= Puerto Rico]".
